Sterile substitution solution.

Is the substance in erythrocytes which carries oxygen around the body. The iron contained in haemoglobin is responsible for the red color of the blood. A decreased level of haemoglobin is known as anemia. Anemia causes tiredness, shortness of breath and paleness.

High blood pressure.

A process, whereby waste products are removed from the blood by diffusion through a semi-permeable membrane.

Fluid overload. Can be caused among other reasons by excessive infusion of fluids. This can cause massive disturbances of the electrolyte and fluid balance and may be fatal.
