The SAFSITE IV System was introduced in 1989 and is the first truly needle-free IV system on the market. With use in over 800 facilities throughout the United States, the SAFSITE valve has provided a standard for proven needlestick injury protection for all healthcare workers.

The SAFSITE Needle-free System is a two-way reflux valve that allows for the injection, gravity/pump flow, and aspiration or infusion of fluids or medications, including blood, blood products, lipids or TPN. SAFSITE is compatible with any standard Luer fitting and existing, standard IV equipment. SAFSITE offers a comprehensive product line for all IV applications.

The SAFSITE reflux valve is a completely closed system, activated by attaching any standard Luer connection, such as a syringe or IV tubing. The valve closes automatically when the Luer taper is removed, reducing the risk of air embolism or backflow.
