B. Braun Expands Portfolio of Eco-Friendly, Large-Volume Irrigation Containers

BETHLEHEM, PA – January 21, 2015 – B. Braun Medical Inc. (B.Braun), a leader in infusion therapy and pain management, announced today the launch of 3L Lactated Ringers for Irrigation. This launch completes B.Braun’s TITAN™ XL line of large-volume, flexible irrigation containers, which now includes 2L and 3L Sterile Water for Irrigation and 0.9% Sodium Chloride for Irrigation and 3L 1.5% Glycine for Irrigation USP.

With this additional TITAN XL container, B.Braun will further expand its line of solution containers that are not made with natural rubber latex, DEHP (a plasticizer and known toxicant) or PVC (a likely carcinogen when incinerated).
Exposure to these toxic materials has been a growing concern for healthcare facilities around the world. Studies show that excessive exposure to DEHP can potentially lead to adverse health effects, especially to a patient’s liver, kidneys and lungs, as well as their heart rate and blood pressure.1 More than three decades ago, B.Braun recognized the environmental and patient risks posed by products containing DEHP and PVC.
