B. Braun to Showcase its Innovative Synchronized Intelligence™ Infusion Platform at AACN

First and only wireless, integrated infusion technology system for IV pump infusion that is IHE certified for all three AutoCOMPLETE integration functions

Bethlehem, PA - May 11, 2015 - B. Braun Medical Inc. (B.Braun) will showcase its Synchronized Intelligence™ infusion platform with AutoCOMPLETE at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition, May 18th -21st, in San Diego, CA at booth (#1328).

B.Braun’s Synchronized Intelligence™ Infusion Platform offers customers the first and only, wireless integrated technology system for IV pump infusion that is IHE* certified for all three AutoCOMPLETE integration functions, which include auto-programming, auto-documentation and auto-notification. This not only helps clinicians to reduce manual data entry errors and save time by increasing documentation accuracy, but also helps improve reporting to help prevent alarm fatigue. The issue of alarm fatigue and patient safety is becoming a major concern for healthcare providers as more devices are implemented in the healthcare environment. In 2013, ECRI (Emergency Care Research Institute) recognized alarm hazards as the #1 Health Technology Hazard and the Joint Commission established a new 2014 National Patient Safety Goal to address improving the safety of clinical alarm systems in hospitals.

"Our fully-integrated infusion platform integrates real-time data, pumps, and reporting seamlessly with integrated partners for system-wide compatibility, in an effort to help improve patient outcomes. The end result is Synchronized Intelligence™ to help clinicians achieve 100% drug library utilization, minimize medication errors, and reduce alarm alerts," said Mike Golebiowski, Vice President of Marketing, Automation and Infusion Systems at B.Braun.

In addition to showcasing its integrated IV infusion pump portfolio, which features B.Braun’s  innovative Outlook® Infusion Pump, Infusomat® Space Infusion System**, and unique DoseTrac® reporting software for insightful analysis, clinical nurse experts Cathy Sullivan, MSN, RN, FNP, CCRN, Kathleen Evanovich Zavotsky, PhD, RN, CCRN, CEN, ACNS-BC and Anne Pohlman, APN-CNS, CCRN, FCCM with be presenting the followingExpoEd presentations at B.Braun booth (#1328), May 19th -21st:
