B. Braun to Exhibit Latest Advancements at AVA

Company’s New STEADYCare™ Extension Set with Wedge™ Catheter Stabilizer and Ster-ASSIST™ Sterile Peripheral IV Catheter Insertion Kit to be featured

BETHLEHEM, PA – September 13, 2016 – B. Braun Medical Inc. will exhibit the latest advancements to its vascular access portfolio at this year’s 30th Association for Vascular Access (AVA) Annual Scientific Meeting at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Sept.16-19.

B. Braun will unveil its new STEADYCare™ Extension Set with Wedge™ Catheter Stabilizer – developed to help improve stabilization and reduce catheter-related complications. It was designed to minimize catheter movement in the vessel, maintain the catheter insertion angle, and reduce the patient connector’s skin contact. Visitors to booth #309 will be able to see and handle the new STEADYCare at AVA and the product will be available for sale in October.

“B. Braun’s goal is to expand the vision of peripheral IV care beyond individual focus areas,” said Tom Sutton, Vice President of Vascular Access Systems at B. Braun. "We’re committed to collaborating with healthcare providers to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery and outcomes. STEADYCare represents the latest advancement in IV therapy technology.”

The company also will feature its new Ster-ASSIST™ Sterile Peripheral IV Catheter Insertion Kit, one of the first comprehensive sterile IV kits supporting ultrasound-guided PIV insertion. To promote best practices in sterile technique and clinician safety, while still providing convenience, B. Braun has packaged into a single kit all of the components needed to perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV therapy procedures.

At its booth #309, B. Braun will showcase the following products and have an ultrasound PIVC placement demonstration station where attendees will be able to practice insertion techniques with the use of ultrasound. Attendees also will be able to visit distinct areas within the booth to learn how they can improve peripheral IV access.
