Stephanie Pitts, MSN, RN, CPN, VA-BC™
Stephanie Pitts is the Director of Strategy & Innovation at B. Braun Medical Inc. A Registered Nurse with over 25 years of healthcare experience primarily focused in leadership, pediatrics and vascular access, Stephanie has published, innovated, and presented at the podium but her greatest accomplishment is amplifying the voice of the nurse. For it is the nurse that is the closest to the patients we all serve.

Meet the Speakers
Speaker Dr. Katie Boston-Leary, PhD, MBA, MHA, NEA-BC
Dr. Katie Boston-Leary has been a Registered Nurse for 27 years who specialized and certified in Perioperative Nursing, Nursing Administration and Executive Leadership. She is a John Maxwell Trained Speaker and Coach and is also an Adjunct Professor at University of Maryland School of Nursing and Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. She is currently a Consultant with the American Nurses Association within the Nursing Practice Work Environment Division. She was previously the System Chief Nursing Officer at University of Maryland Capital Region Health (UMCRH) in Maryland and was elected and served as the President of the Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders. She was previously the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Union Hospital of Cecil County in Maryland. Katie led her team at Union to their second ANCC Pathway to Excellence designation and to win the coveted annual ANCC Pathway to Excellence award in 2017.
Speaker Dr. Amit Bahl, MD, MPH
Dr. Amit Bahl has over a decade of experience as a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with subspecialty expertise in emergency ultrasound. He is the Division Head of Emergency Ultrasound, Program Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship program, and serves as Medical Director for the inpatient Bedside Vascular Access Team at Beaumont, Royal Oak in Southeastern Michigan. His academic appointment is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dr. Bahl is well regarded regionally and nationally for his expertise, clinical care, and research contributions in the field of vascular access. He currently serves as director at large of the Michigan Vascular Access Network, has served on the Association for Vascular Access Design Team for the past two years, and was recently appointed to the Association for Vascular Access Foundation for Patient Safety board of directors. He has earned a number of awards over the years including the Association for Vascular Access Impact Award in 2019.

Speaker Michelle DeVries, MPH, CIC, VA-BC™
Chellie DeVries has been involved in infection prevention and hospital epidemiology for more than 25 years spanning community, university and federal healthcare facilities. She is passionate about raising awareness around peripheral vascular access devices and devotes her time to education on this topic throughout the United States but has also lectured through Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. She was a reviewer for the 2016 and 2021 INS Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice, authored the Infection Prevention chapter for the next edition of their Infusion Nursing: an Evidence Based Approach text book and has also authored the Vascular Access associated Infections Chapter for the International Federation of Infection Control text book as well as numerous peer reviewed journal articles. She is an Adjunct Research Fellow with AVATAR — the Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research and serves AVA both on the national board of directors as well as co-president of her local network (HoosierVAN), the board liaison to the ConSIG (Contiuum of Care Specialist Interest Group) and as a member of various task forces and work groups.
Speaker Dr. Bonnie Clipper, DNP, MA, MBA, RN, CENP, FACHE
Dr. Bonnie Clipper is a top nurse influencer, innovation evangelist, accomplished health care executive, coach, and international speaker. She is a former chief nurse executive with 20 years of expertise in building cultures of innovation, improving employee engagement, and improving the patient experience. She was the first Vice President of Innovation at the American Nurses Association, where she created the innovation framework, and is currently the chief clinical officer at Wambi, a health tech company.
As an internationally recognized expert in the future of nursing and nursing innovation, she is sought out as a speaker and advisor. Her work on the publication The Innovation Roadmap: A Nurse Leader’s Guide was translated into Spanish and has been used in multiple countries. She was the lead author of the Amazon International Best-Selling book, The Nurse's Guide to Innovation. She publishes and blogs regularly on technologies impacting nursing such as; artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and robotics, and has authored The Nurse Manager’s Guide to an Intergenerational Workforce. She is also a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow alumna and ASU/AONL Executive Fellow in Innovative Health Leadership alumna.
Dr. Clipper works with health-tech companies where she imports the voice of the nurse and patient into the design, development, and workflows to ensure that the solutions meet the “true” needs and solve the “right” problems. Bonnie’s unique experience as a healthcare executive, innovation leader, and nurse in the technology space has shaped her ability to ask thought-provoking questions that challenge the status quo to transform health for all and build partnerships that find creative solutions to complex problems.
