Forging a Strong Partnership Through the Power of Educational Training and Collaboration
Sharing expertise through education is not a new concept to us – it is engrained in our culture and has become a vital component in the way we conduct business, as it speaks to our efforts to facilitate life-long learning among our employees, partners, and customers. Historically, we've offered a wide range of education and training programs that contain general information on medical sciences as well as specific application training associated with our products and services.
We're proud to supply DeSales University with B. Braun equipment for its medical training center. DeSales is an award-winning university and is ranked as the leading Physician Assistant program in the country. The university also provides nursing and medical training to most of the local hospitals in the Lehigh Valley.
“DeSales is grateful to be able to partner with a highly respected company like B. Braun to better prepare out healthcare students for their careers,” said Father Bernard D. O’Connor, OSFS, President of DeSales University. “B. Braun shares the same culture of caring that our students, faculty, and administration feels. That’s what partnerships do; they enrich each of the participants.”
B. Braun’s marketing, technical support, and hospital care teams invite customers from Lehigh Valley Health Network to get a first-hand look at the state-of-the-art simulation-based training environment at DeSales. The students at DeSales, many who will have an opportunity to become employed locally by the Lehigh Valley Health Network after graduation, gain valuable early exposure to various medical equipment that is used in a hospital setting, resulting in a high-level of comfort for the student.
The B. Braun donated equipment enables students to use simulation-based deliberate practice methodology in live product training and clinical education courses. These hands-on experiential programs are conducted away from distractions and demands of day-to-day business.
“The total donation valued at $140,000 is the largest donation that B. Braun has ever made in the history of the company,” stated Bruce Heugel. In return, B. Braun's corporate clinical training team uses the facility for technical education and skills training programs.
