Spring/Summer 2026
A Community Newsletter
We were please to sponsor “Let Freedom Sing,” a community choral event co-hosted by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. Held on May 27, 2026 at CocaCola Park, the celebration honored America’s 250th birthday with a powerful night of patriotic music and a community sing-along.
CEO Michael Parden proudly introduced a series of musical selections that highlighted the many voices and stories that form the fabric of America. It was truly a star spangled night for everyone who participated, and we appreciated being a part of it.
After more than 42 years with the company, Rob Albert retired at the end of June. Albert joined B. Braun in 1984 and held leadership roles across Operations, Sales and Marketing before becoming CEO in 2024.
“Rob has demonstrated B. Braun’s values and a commitment to improving patients’ lives,” said Jean‑Claude Dubacher, Chairman of B. Braun of America. “We are grateful for his leadership.”
“B. Braun has been a community and a mission,” Albert said. “I’m grateful for a meaningful 42‑year career and confident Michael will lead our organization to greater heights going forward.”
Michael Parden brings extensive experience in sales, marketing, operations and production, and is relocating to the Lehigh Valley with his family.
“Michael’s operational expertise and collaborative leadership will strengthen our position in the North American market,” Dubacher said.
We are pleased to announced the purchase of renewable electricity for our operations in the U.S., leading to a significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and furthering B. Braun’s dedication to protecting people and the planet by reducing environmental impact. This action will result in a greater than 30% reduction of our scopes 1 & 2 CO2e emissions in North America.
The purchase agreements are part of B. Braun’s commitment to reducing CO2e emissions 50% by 2030* and will result in all of our company’s U.S. based manufacturing facilities, affiliated distribution centers and locations in Pennsylvania being matched with 100% renewably sourced electricity from 2026 onwards. B. Braun is also taking additional steps to invest in alternative energy technologies, including the installation of a fuel cell microgrid at B. Braun’s 710,000 sq. ft. IV fluid and generic pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Irvine, California.

“B. Braun’s purchase of matching renewable energy certificates and investments in clean energy technologies demonstrate our commitment to environmental responsibility and global health, while highlighting sustainability as one of our core values,” said Christian Hutter, Associate Director of Sustainability. “These actions represent not a cost, but an investment in our collective future.”
Former CEO Rob Albert served as the Executive in Residence at Northampton Community College, leading a multi day experience focused on leadership, career growth and real world perspective.
B. Braun leaders joined students for candid panel discussions about their own career journeys, and students also toured our Allentown medical device manufacturing facility to see innovation and quality in action. The program culminated in a fireside chat with Rob, where students engaged in open dialogue and asked thoughtful questions about leadership and decision making.
Sixth, seventh and eighth graders from the Allentown and Bethlehem School Districts got a firsthand look at the impact engineers have on the medical world of innovation at the Mountain Makers STEM Discovery Day at Lehigh University. Five members of our ASPIRE Employee Resource Group (ERG) presented to students throughout the morning.
"We were excited to be back again this year representing B. Braun and the ASPIRE ERG,” said Cassandra Miller, a member of the ASPIRE ERG and Product Manager at B. Braun. “It’s a fabulous way to get young students excited about the impact they could make with a STEM career by showing them how STEM contributes to the world of healthcare through our portfolio of products.”
The middle schoolers joined companies from across the Lehigh Valley in a unique, all-day event that featured hands-on learning challenges, interactive presentations and a strong introduction to the many fields of engineering.
We have partnered with Lehigh Carbon Community College and their state-of-the-art Mobile Manufacturing Training Lab to develop a new Pre-Apprenticeship program for employees.
The 6-month program will allow participating employees to earn college credits that can be applied toward the Industrial Maintenance (iTEC) apprenticeship and place them in the Pipeline for Craft Apprenticeships down the road.
Musikfest 2026 was one to remember. The 10-day music festival kicked off with our team receiving the Marcincin Award. The award recognizes ArtsQuest partners who have played an integral role in helping Musikfest continue to grow and thrive over the years. We’re honored to have received the award and look forward to continuing our collaboration with ArtsQuest.
The celebration continued as our ASPIRE Employee Resource Group (ERG) and B. Braun Band, Infusion, participated in the festivities. Infusion took the stage at the Levitt Pavilion, entertaining the crowds with an incredible performance, as the ERG gathered and supported from the crowd.
We wrapped up Musikfest with our B. Braun Volunteer Night, where employees came together to pour drinks for festival goers and be part of supporting this annual tradition.
We participated in the 15th annual Ice Cream Wars at DaVinci Science Center, where the B. Braun Brew Crew showcased our original flavor, Espresso Explosion. Our team made numerous batches of ice cream for the over 2,000 attendees to sample and vote on. While we didn't take home the trophy, we were awarded "Most likely to be picked up by an ice cream parlor," an honor we don't take lightly.
This event not only raised funds for the DaVinci Science Center, but also served up inspiration for the next generation of innovators by demonstrating how science and creativity can come together to create something sweet.
B. Braun was honored with the Will Shakespeare Award at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Luminosity Gala. This award celebrates individuals or organizations that enrich the world by sharing gifts and inspiring others, leaving a lasting impact through their work.
The Gala supports the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s education and artistic programs that help cultivate the next generation of artists, audiences and supporters. Over the last 25 years, through the “Willpower” tour, PSF has served more than 250,000 high school and middle school students with exceptional education programs around the region.
We were honored to come together at the United Way Celebration of Caring to reflect on a year of shared impact and celebrate the power of community. We’re especially proud to receive the PPL Live United Award, recognizing companies whose community engagement makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. Thank you, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, for this incredible honor and for our continued partnership to create a lasting impact in our community.
