Internships and Career Rotational Programs
We've designed three paths for students and recent graduates to join us and pursue their passions. Explore the one that's right for you.
Internships and apprenticeships can be excellent ways to get a foot in the door to start a career path. At B. Braun and Aesculap, a growing number of employees have taken advantage of these opportunities to not only learn about our business, but also about our people. Their stories reveal that while they may have come to us for a career head start, they’re staying because of our employees and our culture.
Rick Meyers, Department Manager, has held a variety of positions since starting at B. Braun as an 18-year-old landscaper and mower. He says his internship prepared him in ways a standard education couldn’t and urges aspiring interns to “learn as much as you possibly can” about the company and about yourself.
College temp work at B. Braun and a summer internship at Aesculap quickly led to a position for Taylor Hamscher, now an Associate Product Manager at Aesculap. She recommends both B. Braun and Aesculap’s internship programs, but stresses that it’s the people that add a special touch. “Everybody’s willing to help you, teach you, get you where you need to be,” she says.
Not all internships are the same, and for Group Product Director Andrew Tavares, he knew right away that B. Braun was different. “The thing that I realized right away as an intern was I was given valuable work – it wasn’t just busy work – it was work that I could feel good knowing that there was value coming out at the end of it,” he says.
Mold Designer Nate Snyder blended an internship, apprenticeship and education into years of learning, travel and advancement. His passion for learning extends beyond the classroom and into the workspace. “Learn something from everyone,” he says.
Interning at B. Braun right out of college soon turned into a full-time sales career for Key Account Director Bill Freeman. For him, it’s the people at B. Braun that set the company apart. “First and foremost, I had an opportunity to meet some wonderful people here in the organization who believed in me, who wanted to see me grow and develop in my career,” he says.
Some interns can’t wait to finish school before starting at B. Braun. Craftsperson-Apprentice Kiera Barnhart began her internship as a high school senior and, after graduation, accepted a full-time position at the company. Realizing she had gaps in her on-the-job knowledge, she looked to “mentors” who would readily offer to teach her a missing skill or bit of information.
Interns at B. Braun earn real-world experience by working with a specific department for a 10- to 12-week period. We’re looking for current or recently graduated college or university students who want to start their careers in a meaningful setting.
Our interns gain valuable corporate or operations experience through projects determined by their department. Each intern will also be guided by a B. Braun mentor.
Interns conclude the program with a presentation outlining their accomplishments at B. Braun.
