Working to reduce our climate impact
Our commitment to lessening our environmental footprint is not a new initiative for us – it’s in our DNA. B. Braun’s work to lower CO2e emissions affects existing and future facilities. Even small modifications like switching to LED lightbulbs can bring about significant change. And we’re not stopping there.
At B. Braun, we have pledged to reduce our CO2e emissions 50 percent by 2030. We’ve been recording and reporting our emissions in various categories for years. In addition, any new construction or whole building renovations are being planned as CO2 neutral as of 2023.
By replacing existing lighting with LED bulbs, our Breinigsville, Pennsylvania facility reduced electricity consumption by over 1.4 million kilowatt hours per year.1 For some perspective, this is equivalent to the electricity used by over 200 homes annually.1 This one change also resulted in saving more than 1,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year.1
