Cutting emissions is one way we ease climate impact
Our commitment to lessening our environmental footprint is not a new initiative for us – it’s in our DNA. B. Braun’s work to lower CO2e emissions affects existing and future facilities. Even small modifications like switching to LED lightbulbs can bring about significant change. And we’re not stopping there.
Investing in a sustainable future
B. Braun purchased renewable electricity for our operations in the U.S., leading to a significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and a greater than 30% reduction of B. Braun’s scopes 1 & 2 CO2e emissions in North America.
This action supports our commitment to reducing CO₂e emissions 50% by 2030*, alongside initiatives such as:
- Matching Renewable Energy Certificates for all US based manufacturing sites, affiliated distribution centers & locations in PA from 2026+
- Installation of a Fuel Cell Microgrid at B. Braun’s IV fluid & generic pharmaceutical facility in Irvine, CA
- Energy Reduction Programs across all US Facilities

Committed to cutting CO2e emissions
At B. Braun, we have pledged to reduce our CO2e emissions 50 percent by 2030. We’ve been recording and reporting our emissions in various categories for years. In addition, any new construction or whole building renovations are being planned as CO2 neutral as of 2023.
