OnGuard^® 2 Closed System Transfer Device Closed Secondary IV Set

• The OnGuard 2 Closed Secondary IV Set is connected to the Bag Adaptor Closed Port (CP), which is connected to a standard IV bag or Closed Port.
• The unique design of the OnGuard 2 Syringe Adaptor (SA) allows for a safe drug transfer through a closed connection between OnGuard 2 Components when connected to the Bag Adaptor CP.
• It incorporates a 16 gauge needle that enables easy drug withdrawal, even for viscous medications. Additionally, its self-retracting needle mechanism is designed to protect the user from needlestick injuries.
• During manipulation a "click" sound is designed to indicate a safe and secure connection between two OnGuard 2 Components.
• The self-sealing elastomers help prevent drug leakage and droplet formation on the outer septa surfaces.
• A simple pinch on the SA wings will disconnect the SA from the Bag Adaptor CP. The system is still closed after the disconnection.
• The Closed Secondary IV Set can then be connected to a new Bag Adaptor CP attached to an IV bag with saline/diluent.
• Not made with DEHP, PVC or natural rubber latex.
• Tolerates disinfection with alcohol 70%.

Indications For Use:¹

The OnGuard 2 Closed Administration Components are a single-use, sterile Closed System Transfer Device (CSTD) that mechanically prohibits the release of drugs, including antineoplastic and hazardous drugs, in vapor, aerosol or liquid form during administration, thus minimizing exposure of individuals, healthcare personnel and the environment to hazardous drugs. OnGuard 2 Closed Administration prevents the introduction of microbial and airborne contaminants into the drug or the fluid path for up to seven days and 10 activations.²
